Yesterday (Saturday) saw the launch of the club’s athletics sessions run in partnership with DS Active which aims to provide as many opportunities as possible for people with Down Syndrome to lead a healthier and more active lifestyle.
BBDRC is very proud to be one of the first clubs in the region to offer an athletics session.
We were delighted to welcome seven new athletes.
Led by Sue Potter, we took part in a series of activities involving running, jumping and throwing, and much laughter.
Many thanks to Lizzie Fox, Alice Hemmings, Paul Evans and John Wharton for coming along to help and support the session.
Our next session will be on Saturday 15 June 2pm – 4pm. We hope to welcome more athletes as word gets round.
If you would like to help out at this or any session (third Saturday of the month until September) all you need is a bucketful of enthusiasm and a willingness to join in.
Please contact Sue Potter or me for more info.
