BBDRC News W/B 8th April 2018

The biggest Bungay Black Dog Running Club (BBDRC) event of the year – the Bungay Festival of Running – took place last weekend (8 April) and saw the hosts pick up top prizes at all the distances on offer, 10k, half and full marathons.

Among the stand-out successes from almost 100 Black Dog athletes taking part, second place overall in the ever-popular half marathon went to Matthew Spencer while David Sparshott was second in the 10k and Jo Andrews was the first female home. Other 10k wins went to Graham Sampson and Harry Alcock who won their age categories.

The first female Black Dog across the line in the half marathon was Joanne Cox while Bobbie Sauerzapf was the first female and Stuart Young the first male among the Black Dogs in the full marathon.

Club chairman Robin Ashe hailed the event a great success for which he thanked, in particular, race director Bob Paul, his race committee, BBDRC members and the club’s long-time friends in the comminity. “It was fantastic to see so many people enjoying their race and we received a lot of very positive comments from runners,” he added.
