BBDRC News W/B 24th July

Bungay Black Dog Running Club’s (BBDRC’s) annual duathlon to which the club extends invites to other local athletics clubs to take part in a variety of running and cycling races was very well supported last weekend (Sunday 23 July).

The three person team event was won by Justine Fawcett, Shaun Aldous and David Sparshott while the two person team prize went to Simon Asher and Phil Marler from Godric Cycling Club.

In the junior duathlon, the under 11 winner was William Deal (unattached) in nine minutes and 30seconds.  The over 11 winner was Harry Smith (BBDRC) in 10:23, with Tess Andrews (BBDRC) in 2nd place in 11:05. In joint 3rd place were Keeley Clark and Emma Deal (both BBDRC) 15:50.

Elswhere, Jody Donaldson took up a last minute place in the Nelson Knee Knobbler 10k through Winterton dunes, the Norfolk Coastal Path and beach.

JUNIOR WINNERS:  Taking the podium in the junior duathlon were (left to right) Harry Smith, Emma Deal, Keeley Clarke (with helmet) and Tess Andrews.
