Twenty-seven Bungay Black Dog Running Club members headed to Peterborough  last weekend (9 October) for the annual Perkins Great Eastern Run half marathon.

After a rain shower just before the start the weather was otherwise fine and sunny, combining with the flat course to produce some good times. The full Black Dog results were:

Meanwhile, Jody Donaldson and Andrew Manning ran their second marathon in two weeks today as training runs for ultra distance events later in the season. Andrew finished in 3:28 and Jody in 4:47:
Yorkshireman Robin Farrar headed north to take part in his home county marathon where he finished second in his age group in 4:56.  Also running in “a sunny God’s own county” on a course to the east of York were Bob Paul (4:21) and Bob Jack (6:30).

Closer to home, a quartet of Black Dogs – Phil Henry (42.31), Sean O’Loughlan (45.18), David Hupton (54.19) and Ken Hurst (57.15) – took part in the Aylsham to Reepham 10k race along the former railway route of Marriott’s Way. Sean  and Phil were running in Black Dog colours but as part of the Aviva Corporate Challenge Team which improved on its second place last year with an outright corporate trophy win.
